Trioni takes the right route
Having recently won the Milk Development Council’s prestigious “Innovation in Dairy Development” top award, it’s no wonder that Laurence Harris – Director of Trioni, and his team are smiling – their new ‘Daioni’ range has well and truly taken off.
Daioni – Welsh for ‘Goodness’ is a quality product aimed at all ages, who seek a healthy alternative to the other drinks on the market.
Initially formed in 2002 by three organic dairy farmers in North Pembrokeshire, they initially began selling their organic milk directly to stores in Wales. In 2003, they launched the delicious ‘Daioni’ range of flavoured milks to a hugely enthusiastic audience at The Royal Welsh Show.
True Marketing, through mentor David Edwards, stepped in to assist in increasing the distribution network of Daioni. With David’s expertise, Trioni have now increased sales volumes and the tasty banana, chocolate and strawberry milkshakes sell to over 600 independent outlets across the UK. Having secured an agreement with a national soft drinks distributor, Daioni is also available through vending machines in schools and colleges.
David Edwards commented;
“As part of our mentoring it is important to feel that you have up skilled the client. A good example is the guidance we have offered Trioni on how best to access major customers, such as supermarkets and European Distributors.
Having returned from IFE 2005 with a huge pile of enquiries for Daioni, and with on-going marketing and sales support from the True Marketing programme, it’s likely that the Trioni team will be smiling until the cows come home!
